1930s Wind Block "CORD" Jacket - Bob Cat
Product details
From Victorian era curiosities to early 20th century equestrian and motorcycle wear to rare WW2 era items - Black Sign garments are beautifully constructed, with a shared identity and aesthetic cohesion running through the collection to a degree we rarely see in brands focusing on reproductions & recreations.
The 1930s Wind Block jacket feels like something right out of the early 20th century, occupying the stylistic void that exists somewhere between suiting and sportswear from that era. Despite its fairly simple exterior, this jacket has a lot more going on under the surface, from the 100% cupro lining inside, to the hidden internal placket extension, to the extensive tailoring across the back (gussets and such), to the rear half belt - it's an impressively designed garment.
Cut with two comfy hand pockets, adjustable cuffs, and a single (very little) chest pocket for your keys, the real twist of this jacket hides behind the front zipper. Should the climate allow, the jacket can be worn unzipped, with the internal "vest" buttoned together at the top of the placket, giving a much more dramatic drape and altering the silhouette of the jacket entirely.
The "Cord" edition of the Wind Block Jacket is made from a brown and black wool blend fabric - lightweight and soft, it insulates well enough alone, but is perfect for layering beneath when temperatures really drop.
Fits slightly small, those in between sizes may want to choose the larger of the two for the best fit. Dry clean or spot clean only.
