Kapital is undoubtedly one of our most unique brands, as well as one of our favorites. From their iconic Ring Coats and Century Denim, to the scarves and bandanas we love so much, to their patchwork and Kountry pieces - through every item they make, Kapital is a brand that have earned their reputation of style, brilliance, and just a hint of madness.
Few garments do as many things at the same time as well as this garment does, and I will do my best to explain why. Firstly, not many denim jackets out there employ blanket linings, nor do most choose to base their pattern off of old railroad union jackets, this does both, and on top of that, happens to be fully reversible as well.
Beyond being basically two jackets in one, there's no loss of functionality on either side, with two external hand pockets and two (or three) internal pockets no matter how you're wearing it. The snaps are double-sided, and designed to always face out, displaying their custom "kapital" logos, and on the blanket side, the elbows feature Kapital's 4-eyed smiley face in a friendly yellow.
The fit is old school, with a cropped body, raglan shoulders, and a relaxed chest. This particular combination of details makes it an extremely easy jacket to wear, sitting comfortably and flatteringly on a wide variety of different body types. Additionally, the shorter length and always-fitted shoulders allow you to layer this jacket under larger coats without issue, should you want or need to do that.
The outer body is made from Kapital's 100% cotton 11.5oz denim, which has been rinsed to perfect softness and given a custom ageing treatment in house to develop the patina without reducing the life of the garment. The end result is stellar, a brand new denim with authentic looking fades developed based on examples from an expansive vintage archive. The inside is a striped blanket fabric, with shades of ochre, charcoal, yellow, and burgundy.
