The grain texture of this Horsebutt leather is highly variable, and can differ from boot to boot. We cannot ensure your boots will have more or less grain than what is photographed as all pairs will be entirely unique. Caveat emptor.
Rolling Dub Trio are produced in small batches from the Tokyo-based "The Boots Factory", the name of the production wing of RDT. Inspired by vintage styles, Rolling Dub Trio designs are unique, featuring inspired twists and always using the highest quality materials on the market.
Utilizing old world construction methods, from two-row stitchdown to 360 flat welts, Rolling Dub Trio footwear is built not only to last, but to be fully rebuildable and recraftable over time. Featuring heavy, precise stitchwork and cleanly cut uppers - Rolling Dub Trio's footwear is as handsome as it is strong and comfortable.
The Roots Engineers are excellent boots, landing right in the sweet spot between sleek and chunky that pairs well with a wide variety of other styles. Featuring a rounded structured toe and double row stitchdown construction, they're built to last (and can be resoled or rebuilt by any trusted cobbler) and will only get better with age. This edition of the Roots Engineer is exclusive to us at S&S.
For our exclusive style, we opted for a supremely handsome natural undyed horsebutt, with a ton of grain variety and a super rigid initial temper. Over time, the leather will both soften and darken, taking the shape of the wearers foot as it breaks in and gaining color from moisture, light, and anything else the leather membrane comes into contact with. It's paired with all white stitching throughout, that starts as a tonal choice and becomes more high-contrast as the hide darkens.
They've got two solid brass roller buckles each as hardware, with the woven labels and branding all hidden inside the boot. A custom-made The Boots Factory oil-resistant cork outsole & Quabaug heel provide excellent comfort & traction without compromising the low profile of the sole, and a leather pull tab at the heel makes putting them on easier, especially after they've broken in.
These are built on the Munson last. For average volume and D-width feet, we suggest choosing 1 full size smaller than your Brannock measurement. If you have particularly wide feet, you may only need to choose 0.5 size smaller than Brannock.
We reference Brannock sizing for our footwear. The Brannock Device is the standard foot measuring tool for the world's footwear industry. Most better quality footwear stores will have one.
