Description
The Utility Trouser is one of the most iconic military bottoms of all time, most commonly known as just "Fatigue Pants", they've got a fit that's really stood the test of time. McCoy's have made their version as premium as possible, reproducing the fit and details from the urea buttons to the patch pockets, as well as opting for things like 100% cotton thread and a specialty herringbone body fabric.
Said fabric is a completely raw and undyed cotton herringbone in a natural ecru, complete with flecks and neps leftover from the processes of turning raw cotton into yarn, and then that yarn into fabric. As a raw cotton, it's expected to shrink a bit after a wash, and will then stretch out again with some wear. In general, it's better to size up, because the waistband features side-tab adjusters that can help bring in the fit, and it's always better for things to be a bit too big than too small — something raw not shrinking enough is always preferable than if it shrank too much.
The fit is classic, with a medium high rise and a very-slightly-tapered (but basically straight) leg that looks flattering on almost anyone. The fabric promises to age beautifully, softening considerably and developing creases as it breaks in from wear and washing. Like any herringbone, it'll develop a more fluid drape over time, taking the shape of the wearer and moving with them, becoming better and better the more you wear it. The natural color choice (as opposed to the usual olive green) is inspired by chef's uniforms.
Fits true to size but will shrink after washing, we suggest sizing up. Wash cold and hang dry for less shrinkage (they will still shrink)!
