Description
Based on shirts given in US Navy medical bays during the Second World War and slightly through the 1950s, The Real McCoy's have reimagined it as a piece of pseudo-outerwear, with a relaxed fit and a tie placket. It's cut with a collarless neck and a flat hem, featuring a single chest pocket and full sleeves with wide cuffs so as not to restrict movement.
Historical versions were usually made from a white cotton, later transitioning to a light blue, giving a much more classic "hospital gown" impression. To avoid that, McCoy's have made their version from the same olive drab basket-woven cotton as their N-3 Utility Shirt, giving it a decidedly more milsurp vibe. It's also pretty sturdy, and will break in pretty substantially over time, developing a really soft and relaxed drape, as well as fading slowly from washing and sunlight.
Fits true to size. Wash cold and hang dry.
