Product details
The RJ-1 is one of the OG Freenote pieces, returning year-after-year with slight revisions and tweaks as the brand has continued to grow and develop. After many seasons of the usual waxed canvas editions, Freenote have produced a run in a murdered-out all black leather in honor of the OG motorcycle jacket that inspired the style to begin with.
Cut as a functional Rider's jacket, it's got a bi-swing action back, giving you the best of both worlds - full mobility through the sleeves and shoulders as well as a handsome, fitted silhouette. The hardware is all custom, which is really fitting for a jacket of this calibre, and the seams feature Freenote's usual heavy duty 1/8" double-needle stitching for maximum durability.
This edition is made from an all black African goatskin - an eminently sustainable and exceptional soft leather that requires essentially no break in at all. Sourced through the UK tannery Tusting & Burnett, the goats are raised by a farming cooperative in Nigeria, and the hides are vegetable-tanned with Bagaruwa seeds, and the grain texture comes from hand-twisting the skins during the tanning process.
It's lined with a 100% cotton moleskin from Japan, and features satin through the sleeves for easy layering.
True to size. Wear the hell out of it and don't worry about washing it (or spot clean).
