Built on Y'2's leather work-shirt block but kitted out with western details, this is the outerwear you need for wearing out (to your next function). Cut more like an overshirt than a shirt-shirt, we recommend layering this item over something else, as if it were a jacket. Plus, layering it over something else gives you the option to wear the shirt open or closed, and who doesn't love versatility?
The body is made from Y'2's 1mm thick "Oil Soft Horse" tannage, a supple and lightweight horsehide finished with an excess of oils that keep it soft and easy to wear even before break-in. It's trimmed in their 1mm thick "Horse Light" leather, a slightly stiffer black horsehide that they've embossed a floral paisley pattern into, making up the cuffs, collar, yokes, placket, and pocket flaps.
It's got all the important western-shirt details, from the trim fit, to the angled yokes and pointed pockets. Y'2 have opted for buttons rather than snaps to close everything up - these are challenging to operate at first, but break in quickly (with use) and become much easier to button. The two chest pockets are on the smaller side, good for little things like keys or cash, since they securely button closed when not needed.
Inside, the jacket is lined with an 80% cotton, 20% linen blend in a dark drab olive color. Soft and breathable, it's not too heavy, making this a comfortable jacket even in warmer weather. The sleeves are lined with a smooth and slick 100% nylon fabric, making layering a breeze.
These run true to size, on the slimmer side. If you're in between sizes, we suggest taking the larger one. Do not wash, dry or dry clean.
