From Victorian era curiosities to early 20th century equestrian and motorcycle wear to rare WW2 era items - Black Sign garments are beautifully constructed, with a shared identity and aesthetic cohesion running through the collection to a degree we rarely see in brands focusing on reproductions & recreations.

Inspired by British Military outerwear from the 1950s, Black Sign's "British Coat" is an extremely serious piece of cold weather apparel, with a custom wool body and an Italian boa fleece lining through the entire body and hood. The fit is relaxed through the body, long in the torso and roomy in the chest, making it easy to throw this on over another already fully-realized outfit for extra protection from whatever awaits you outside. 

It's made from a 100% wool twill designed to replicate the fabric of a 1951 Army field wool trouser. It's got a course, vintage feel that's pleasantly tough and dry without being stiff, and insulates surprisingly well thanks to being 100% wool. The inside of the body features a dark brown boa fleece throughout - sourced from Italy, it's outstandingly soft and plush, offering exceptional insulation, making this a seriously warm & comfortable outer layer for when temperatures drop.

These run true to size - if you're between sizes, we recommend sizing up. Spot clean or dry clean only.
