Founded in 2016 by Christian Hofmann, whose experience includes a 12-year career at Ralph Lauren and a lifelong passion for the outdoors, Heimat Textil is based out of and produced in Germany. Every piece they make is built to last, with a solid construction that only gets better with time, softening and breaking in from wear. The company name, Heimat is a German word without a direct translation in English — best explained as a comfortable and secure feeling that comes from being where you belong.

Heimat's primary focus as a brand is quality, working with the very best materials and using the most sustainable production techniques to create heirloom-quality staples with German sensibilities. Their garments are made to be lived in, taken outdoors and subjected to the elements, keeping up with your lifestyle — whatever it may be. The designs are classic and stripped of excess, versatile by way of their minimalism, comfortably fitting into a wide variety of different wardrobes.

Heimat's Mechanics Hat is inspired by USN watch caps from WWII, with a thick cuff and a fitted crown. The extra tall cuff can be rolled lower to allow for different styling, and the interior hides two custom woven Heimat labels.

It's made with 100% virgin wool yarns, soft without being scratchy, it insulates extremely well, and the natural oils within the fabric are antimicrobial and lightly water-resistant. Heimat's 5-gauge knit is thick and tight, and will relax slightly, loosening over time and taking the shape of the wearer's body.

Orders to Hawaii, Alaska, AE/APO addresses, and PO boxes will be shipped with USPS. All other US orders will ship UPS unless otherwise requested.
