Product details
Déborah Sitbon Neuberg founded De Bonne Facture to create purposeful clothing made with transparency and sustainability in mind. The line showcases small ateliers, primarily throughout France, but additionally around a few other parts of Europe — each one specializing in the product they craft. The line is nostalgic, reverential towards well made and well-worn menswear classics, and leaning into a more casual aesthetic for their beautifully-tailored designs.
De Bonne Facture take sustainability extremely seriously, with a design philosophy that relies on five pillars — "garment durability, atelier traceability, fabric provenance, the ecological impact of our supply chain, and the preservation of industrial know-hows". Their garments are built to last, using high end materials that will improve with time as they wear in, developing unique character with time.
The Lounge Trousers are a more relaxed take on De Bonne Facture's Balloon Pant, with an elasticated drawstring waistband, a relaxed-tapered fit, and a comfortable high rise. The drawstring allows for a more customizable fit, pairing well with the roomy top block and exaggerated thighs that taper slightly towards a more moderate leg opening, giving them a natural shape that styles well with a wide variety of different shoes and tops.
They're made from a 100% merino lambswool, with a tight twill face and subtle texture throughout. The wool comes from sheep in Australia and New Zealand, with the shorn wool being spun up into fabric at a mill in the UK. The sheep who grow the wool are raised WITHOUT Mulesing, an agricultural practice that involves removing a large chunk of wool-growing skin from the sheep's hindquarters to reduce risk of a pest infection called flystrike.
For storage, they've got a classic four pocket configuration — two slash pockets for your hands, two welted pockets on the back, with no belt loops because the drawstring takes care of the fit for you. They've got a zip fly and a real horn button closing up the front, and the previously mentioned drawstring that ties up in front of the waist button.
Fits true to size. Wash cold and hang dry.
