With a stylistic focus that zooms in on the era where denim transitioned from "workwear" to a casual fabric, Fullcount were the first brand to start making their denim from hand-picked Zimbabwean cotton, which is famous for its long staple length (granting it both greater softness and durability than short staple cottons).
The Denim Engineer Jacket is a more antique workwear style, with a design akin to a long-sleeved waistcoat. It's got two bucket pockets on the front, with a four button placket and a collarless v-neck. The sleeves and torso are relaxed, but not oversized, functional as a layering piece both above and beneath other garments.
These are made from a vintage-inspired left hand twill denim - woven with 100% American cotton, the fabric clocks in at about 13.5oz and features an old school all-white selvedge ID. Though left hand twill denim is generally more soft than "standard" (right-hand twill) denim, this particular left hand twill is additionally comfortable thanks to the one wash finish Fullcount have given it, relaxing the fabric and handling the initial shrinkage for you. With a slightly brighter indigo finish that most contemporary denims, these promise to fade beautifully over time, developing a unique patina.
The trims are also worth noting, as they're on par with the excellent fit and fabric - custom Fullcount metal buttons and 100% cotton tonal thread keep everything held together, with heavy duty double row chainstitch seams throughout. Unlined through the interior, the tag also matches the style, being made from Fullcount's stamped goatskin leather.
