Product details
Y'2's "140" 1st Type Jackets are a favorite of ours, with a design based on WWII era Type-I jackets - but stripped of the traditional embellishments like a buckle back or back pleats. This allows the leather to do the talking, showing off the beautiful and impressively soft deerskin leather, as well as Y'2's masterful cutting, and ensures more consistent patina across the entire jacket.
For their 25th Anniversary, Y'2 were unsure if they would actually be able to release this jacket, as sufficiently high-quality deer hides are in high demand with very low supply. In the 11th hour, they were able to secure enough leather to produce a run of these, but likely won't be releasing any deerskin garments again soon. The body is lined in a soft mid-weight cotton/wool flannel, with a rayon/poly blend sleeve lining that slides over skin and fabric with ease.
Despite the leather's relative thickness of 2.0mm, it's exceptionally soft from the get-go, requiring virtually no breaking in whatsoever. It's plush and sturdy, blending the heft, density, and durability of any other leather jacket with a gentle drape and easy fit that you'd usually only find in woven fabrics. The whole thing closes up with five tonal Wreath & Star donut buttons, same buttons as on the cuffs - these buttons can be a bit tough at first, but break in quickly with use.
