The CCC - the Civilian Conservation Corps - emerged as part of FDR's New Deal. The project put hundreds of thousands of unemployed to work on environmental projects to help pull America out of the Great Depression. Often known as the "Tree Army", over 3 million American men took part in the CCC over the course of its existence, and to this day their legacy remains in not just the trees planted, but in the state and national parks they built.

The Real McCoy's have made a better-than-perfect replica of it, starting with an exact match to the wool yarn used to weave the broken twill body of the jacket; carefully reproduced urea buttons; and ribbing made on vintage machines to the original specifications. The body is made from Oil Cut Wool, treated to reduce the oil content of the yarns and produce a more vintage-accurate texture and feel.
