Product details
Nigel Cabourn needs very little introduction, but deserves one nonetheless: having over 50 years experience designing and working in the menswear industry, with multiple decades-old brands and international stores with cult followings under his belt. His eponymous brand has a focus on practical and hard-wearing textiles from vintage workwear, producing inspired takes on classic military apparel from the last century.
The Army Crew Sweatshirt is inspired by two different styles used by the British Army. The right side is from the 1930s while the eft is from the 1940s combining the different designs literally meeting in the middle.
The two vintage sweatshirts used as the inspiration have the same basic design, but the rib structure and size differ which is faithfully reproduced resulting in the ribs being different sizes. The overall look is one of a patchwork quilt.
But the split personality of the sweatshirt is more than jersey deep. Each side is constructed differently, reproducing the techniques of the era. The right side is made with flat seams while the 1940s seams are made with a serger.
Fit runs small, consider sizing up. Wash cold and hang dry.
- 100% cotton
- Multi-texture knit body
- Ribbed collar, hem, and cuffs
- Asymmetrical design and construction
- Wash cold and hang dry
- These run small
- Made in Japan
