W'Menswear was founded by Lauren Yates in 2015, born out of a desire to produce high quality, heritage-inspired garments for women - with a nuanced and ever-evolving perspective on femininity at the intersections of fashion, workwear, military garments, and history. Originally operating out of a converting shipping container in Bangkok, the brand has grown substantially with each new collection, employing specialty and custom fabrics as well as partnering with local workshops & artisans.
The 2024 collection, titled Diesel Fueled Defiance, is inspired by women who were on the forefront of automobile racing during the Civil Rights movements of the 1960s. Facing down particularly fierce and widespread sexist sentiments, these women brought about advancement for all women through their relentless pursuit of speed and the feeling of adventure.
W'Menswear's Waffle Pullovers are developed in partnership with family-and-women owned-and-operated factory Ming Fong Knitting 1985, an artisanal knitting workshop just a dozen miles from the W'Menswear HQ. A truly exceptional factory, they produce fabrics on hand-powered manual knitting machines, a highly specialized and labor-intensive process that requires extensive training to perform correctly.
Made from 100% Japanese cotton, they feature a tight waffle knit through the body with ribbing at the hem, cuffs, and collar. The fit is relaxed, with long sleeves and a wide torso that drapes nicely in combination with the flat hem.
Fits true to size. Wash cold and dry flat.
