Founded in 2016 by Christian Hofmann, whose experience includes a 12-year career at Ralph Lauren and a lifelong passion for the outdoors, Heimat Textil is based out of and produced in Germany. The company name, Heimat is a German word without a direct translation in English — best explained as a comfortable and secure feeling that comes from being where you belong.

The Roll Neck Sweater is a heavyweight layering piece with a chunky and textured 5-gauge knit. It's got a tapered body, with a high roll neck and tight ribbing at the hem and cuffs, which feature Heimat's signature knit stripe details. The collar and sleeves are sewn into the body by hand to ensure quality.

It's made with 100% virgin wool yarns, soft without being scratchy, it insulates extremely well, and the natural oils within the fabric are antimicrobial and lightly water-resistant. Heimat's 5-gauge knit is thick and tight, and will relax slightly, loosening over time and taking the shape of the wearer's body.
