Description
The Trio Jacket is a really elegant single-button double-breasted peak lapel suit jacket with a handsome cut and very classic fit. Motiv blend the more traditional cut with workwear details throughout, including a buggy lining, patch pockets, an internal stabilizer strap (for wearing the jacket closed without disrupting the shape), a double-vented back, and two-button surgeon's cuffs. The shoulders are unstructured, allowing the jacket to drape more naturally under the weight of the fabric, giving a more relaxed and comfortable silhouette throughout.
It's made from a beautiful 100% wool suiting fabric from one of Italy's leading fabric mills. The fabric itself is woven on a dobby loom, giving a more three-dimensional texture to the check face that helps the fabric maintain shape without stretching or bagging out as easily, and insulating more throughly thanks to the increased surface area to trap air in. The sage green color is beautiful, distinct from a more military-coded olive green, the warm and desaturated tone styles remarkably easily. Immediately soft, it drapes naturally, with a pleasant heft for a 100% wool fabric that's still inarguably less heavy than most tweed or other "winter" wool textiles.
The details are also worth bringing up, like the two internal pockets that you can't see from the outside, or the custom carved buttons inspired by a design from a 1920s German tailoring catalog. The body lining is 100% lyocell, with a custom print taken from the July 18th, 1860 edition of "Illustrated London News" depicting a woodcut record of a solar eclipse — the sleeves are lined in 100% cupro to make layering easy, helping this jacket not get stuck on whatever else you're wearing.
