Based out of Japan's Iwate Prefecture, one of the northernmost provinces, Gorsch (the brand) was born into a quiet rural life, taking inspiration from antique German tailoring and early proto-workwear. Produced in highly limited quantities, their garments are beautifully constructed, frequently making use of deadstock vintage textiles, with tailored silhouettes and unisex styling.
The Spring/Summer '25 collection takes inspiration from a variety of sources: the designer's artist friends, Buddhist concepts of spontaneity, and the turning of the weather as things get warmer. The cuts are breezy and relaxed, with drape and airflow prioritized for maximum comfort, and a really fantastic color palette that shows off the various fabrics.
The 2 Tuck Trousers are named for the double-pleated construction, featuring a straight fit with a more formal silhouette, complete with a leg crease and a partially lined top block. They're cut with four pockets, two for your hands and two on the seat, with a zip fly and dark tonal hardware. The legs are straight, not too wide or slim, a very comfortable medium that adds flattering volume to the wearer's shape.
Calling these "Thick Linen" is no exaggeration, as these may be the heaviest and densest linen fabric we've handled in a garment. It's got a fantastic structure, with a really smooth and fluid drape thanks to the long-staple linen yarns and textured canvas weave. It's also indigo-dyed, so it will fade with time as a result of wear, developing a handsome unique patina.
Fits true to size. Wash cold on delicate settings (or by hand) with like colors and a mild (linen-friendly) detergent, then hang dry — or dry clean.
