Description
The "Romeo" shoe was a popular style of house shoe from the early 1900s, which was eventually modified and became more common outside the home as well. Stylistically, they're somewhere between a chelsea boot and a slipper, with a smooth vamp, elasticated sides, and a comfortably-rounded heel cup. They feature a 360 degree goodyear welt construction, a sleeker, lower-profile update to the more "traditional" chunky stitchdown some original pairs used.
They're made from an all-black kip skin cowhide leather — sourced from France, the hides are made into leather in Japan, chrome-tanned into a soft and flexible leather that breaks-in quickly. They stand on an oak bark tanned leather outsole that is immediately comfortable and easy to stand on, with a rubbed heel for extra grip and durability.
These are made on the Attractions A016 last, a standard (D-width) dress shoe fitting based on an original last from the 1940s.
