Constant research into garment production techniques around the world informs their design, with the goal of creating “recreations” rather than “reproductions”
The Norweger Flight Trousers are a hybrid reimagining of traditional Norweger ski trousers and US Airforce L-1 flight coveralls, with a great fit and exceptionally tailored details. The waistband is fully adjustable, with an internal button system that loops through itself and modifies the fit through the two large front pleats. The leg silhouette can be adjusted with ankle zips that can be worn open for a more relaxed taper, or zipped close for a dramatic carrot fit.
Made from a totally custom waxed cotton fabric, developed exclusively for MotivMFG by Halley Stevenson in the UK, these are a medium-lightweight (270gsm) fabric with a smooth texture and excellent water resistance. It's a remarkable fabric, with the softness and drape of a standard twill, that will develop a dramatic patina upon washing and with wear. Motiv have noted that the "Lava" orange colorway is prone to bleeding during the wash, and may crock onto other surfaces for a time (like a fresh indigo garment might).
The trims are thoroughly excellent, with two zip front pockets, two covered-entry rear pockets, and a single zip pocket on the left thigh for added utility (perfect for storing things on trains or airplanes, anywhere with lots of sitting). As mentioned above, the waist can be adjusted with internal button tabs that pull through the pleats at the front, allowing the fit to be significantly altered.
True to size with a highly adjustable waist - size up for a more relaxed or oversized look. Machine wash cold on delicate cycle and hang dry.
