Product details
Run by designer Daniel Olatunji, Monad London produces beautiful handmade garments with a unique blend of precise tailoring and what Daniel calls meticulous imperfection. A graduate of Central Saint Martins in London, Daniel's pursuit of perfection lead him full circle, now embracing a very natural chaos in his details — raw edges, mismatched buttons, aged fabrics, and hand stitching contrast & compliment the immaculate construction of each piece.
The same approach is taken with their materials, seeking out handwoven or deadstock textiles from artisan makers and antique dealers, selecting only the very best and most interesting fabrics for each new style. The designs are inspired by what we'd call "working wear" — shirts, trousers, and even suits made from hardy materials and worn by blue collar workers through the middle of the 20th century. These pieces were lived in by the people who wore them, developing a unique character over time that Monad London manage to reproduce and reimagine.
Cut with a relaxed body, vented back, and covered button placket, the Moore Hunting Jacket is somewhere between a chore coat and a blazer. The front features three roomy covered pockets, with a hand-stitched collar, and raw edges at the end of the sleeves. The buttons at the cuffs, collar, and up the placket are handcrafted in Nepal, made from local horn.
It's made from a black overdyed floral print cotton corduroy with a narrow wale and a fantastic drape. With a soft and dry hand, it's a comfortable cold weather garment, insulating well thanks to the combination of the corduroy body and 100% cotton lining inside. The miniature floral pattern features a combination of faded red, blue, and green flower designs that come off subtly due to their low level of contrast with the dark background.
Fits true to size. Dry clean.
