W'Menswear was founded by Lauren Yates in 2015, born out of a desire to produce high quality, heritage-inspired garments for women - with a nuanced and ever-evolving perspective on femininity at the intersections of fashion, workwear, military garments, and history. Originally operating out of a converting shipping container in Bangkok, the brand has grown substantially with each new collection, employing specialty and custom fabrics as well as partnering with local workshops & artisans.

The 2024 collection, titled Diesel Fueled Defiance, is inspired by women who were on the forefront of automobile racing during the Civil Rights movements of the 1960s. Facing down particularly fierce and widespread sexist sentiments, these women brought about advancement for all women through their relentless pursuit of speed and the feeling of adventure.

The Mohom Shirt is a simplified collarless overshirt with a relaxed fit, rounded neckline, and two hand pockets just above the hem. The simple front placket closes up with custom donut buttons, and the sleeves are cut fairly wide, with an anatomical taper from the shoulder to the wrist. It's an excellent layering piece, both thanks to the pleasant structure of the material and the roomy fit that sits easily over other knit or woven garments.

It's made from a 100% cotton Japanese check fabric, a comfortable medium-weight twill that features a sturdy drape and vibrant red/white pattern. The pockets are cut on the bias, breaking the pattern up through the front of the torso. Over time, the cotton will relax, taking the shape of the wearer's body as the fabric breaks in from wear and washing.
