In addition to workwear, the Joe McCoy label also produces some incredible casual wear - work hard, play hard, as they say. Inspired by casualwear from the 80s and 90s, mohair knits were especially popular within the grunge movement, and have been reproduced in cardigan and pullover forms.
Most mohair cardigans (and mohair garments in general) you'll find are made with yarns that feature a blend of mohair and synthetic threads. For their cardigan, the Real McCoy's have developed a yarn that is 80% mohair and 20% wool, with a solid wool core that the mohair is spun around for maximum softness and durability. The V-neck sweater's knit is slightly lighter than the Joe McCoy Mohair Cardigans, which are made from a double-layer knit, rather than this garment's single-layer.
After knitting, the fabric is finished by hand - the hairy texture is imbued after an intensive roller treatment.
