OrSlow is consistently one of our most popular brands, and for good reason - their combinations of great fits, custom fabrics, and handsome styles fit easily into almost any wardrobe. Founded in 2005 by designer Ichiro Nakatsu, OrSlow takes it’s name from Ichiro’s desire to make the opposite of fast fashion, or ‘slow clothing’, as he would put it.
These are part of OrSlow's women's line, cut with a higher rise and more room through the top block and graded for women's sizing. The little details are all stellar as well, from the precise stitching, to the period-accurate construction details, to the custom hardware.
It's made from a lightweight (10oz) version of OrSlow's signature one wash denim, a fantastic and completely proprietary Japanese selvedge denim. Woven with 100% cotton yarns, it's a slubby denim with a lower tension, a soft hand, and subtly hairy texture. OrSlow has given it a used wash treatment, substantially softening and fading the denim to a medium blue, as well as relaxing the fabric into something that's broken in from the moment you put it on. Over time, the fabric will continue to relax from wear and washing, slowly developing unique fades for each different wearer.
Not sufficiently pleased stopping at only the fabric, orSlow also completely uses custom hardware. In this case, copper rivets, a custom snap waistband, and a period-authentic zipper for the fly. Little details, sure, but how much attention a brand pays to the little details is always telling, and orSlow pays a lot of attention.
True to size - check the size chart to find your fit. Minimal shrink expected with a cold wash and hang dry, as these are prewashed.
