Like so many of our favorite brands, Attractions was born from an appreciation of vintage clothing. Originally founded in 2006, Attractions began as a vintage reseller, importing pieces from the United States and UK before starting their own production in 2011. Their experience in the vintage world provided them with the knowledge and inspiration necessary to develop their own styles, growing into an impressive and unique brand in a market saturated with alternatives.
With a deliberate focus on highly specific and often obscure styles from the last hundred years, Attractions produce some truly stellar and unique pieces, occupying a stylistic wheelhouse closely adjacent to "biker" but plainly distinct from other similar repro brands. Inspired by the progression of youth culture and style, Attractions infuse their own unique perspective into both the pieces they design and the ways they design them.
Run by a small team, Attractions produce (relatively) tight collections with fewer styles than many other brands, and outsource the logistical aspects of production to specifically selected factories around Japan. The reduced strain from not having to wrangle production allows Attractions to prioritize development, releasing exceptional styles in materials that can't be found anywhere else.
The Horsehide A-1 by Attractions is less military and more sportswear (but like, 1930s style sportswear), landing in the camp of casual leather jackets that can be styled with a bit more versatility than biker or flight jackets. It's made from a two-tone arrangement of brown and black horsehides, with a subtle drape that will grow more pronounced as the leather relaxes over time.
Inside, it's lined with a 100% cotton twill through the body and sleeves, with a single interior pocket for storing away something small and important. On the outside, two button-flap front pockets give you somewhere to put your hands, and the two D-ring adjusters at the sides can be used to tweak and optimize your fit on the fly.
Featuring a rounded "cossack" style collar, it's additionally secure thanks to the neck button that secures the top of the jacket closed, right below the collar. The front closes up with a stainless steel zip, and the sleeves button closed with tonal catseye buttons.
These run slightly large, if you're in-between sizes, take the larger of the two for the best fit. Do not wash.
