1st PAT-RN is the brainchild of designers Cristiano Berto and Silvia Piccin, established out of their combined experience in design and fashion consultation. Their garments are laser focused on wearability and optimized for daily life. Kind of a strange sentence, because what clothes aren't? But it starts to make a lot more sense once you've tried on some 1st PAT-RN. Everything, and we do mean everything, from the fabric composition, to the cut, to the placement of pockets, is done with the wearer in mind.
The Spring/Summer '24 collection, titled de-tailoring, is about deconstructing "the suit" - reimagining traditional blazers and tailoring from a more utilitarian standpoint and returning, in a sense, to the style's humble working origins. Masterfully walking the very fine line they've drawn between elegance and utility, their SS24 lineup is spectacularly versatile, blending elements of workwear, ivy, mil-surp, and traditional suiting into simple yet exceptional garments.
The Greenwich Jacket is one of 1st PAT-RN's exceptional "Travel Jackets" a style that they've absolutely mastered over the years we've been doing business with them. It's an extremely versatile piece, and a perfect demonstration of the way 1st PAT-RN blend styles, seamlessly employing details from military outerwear and traditional work jackets. Featuring a standard notch lapel, it's got a classic 3-roll-2 placket, with a unique pocket configuration that necessitates complex front panels and seams to properly support.
It's got a tailored fit through the body, sitting neither snug nor loose when sized correctly. Completely unlined, the interior features a clean construction, with all finished and closed seams for maximum durability and garment longevity. Neither cropped nor long in the torso, it's just right as far as formality is concerned, dressing down easily, but looking no less flattering or appropriate with a nice tie.
It's made from a dark blue double twisted oxford cloth, woven from 100% cotton yarns, with a dry "crispy" hand and structured drape. Weighing in at what we'd call a light mid-weight fabric, it's breezy and comfortable, the perfect thickness for the Spring/Summer season, when temperatures don't lean too far towards the extreme. After finishing, it's rinsed to relax and shrink the fabric, softening things up and helping develop a more worn-in look.
It's finished with black corozo nut buttons, which you'll find up the placket and on the left breast pocket, but not at the cuffs, which lack any buttons and are a fixed width at their opening. Speaking of pockets, there are four - two bucket hand pockets, a flap pocket on the left breast, and a side entry "passport pocket" at the right shoulder, right next to the lapel.
Fits true to size. Wash cold and hang dry.
