Product details
A proper western-style Roper, the Duke boots make for an extremely handsome pull-on with all the usual Lofgren quality. All the classic details are there, from the twin pull-tabs to the extended vamp, brought together by multiple rows of exacting stitchwork around a fully custom last.
Chromexcel cowhide an extremely sturdy and handsome leather that only gets better and better with time. These are made from full grain natural CXL roughout - the reverse (or "suede") side of the usual CXL cowhide. Like the smooth finish, the roughout is an extremely dynamic leather that's been finished without any sort of dye applied. The light tan roughout patinas quickly and dramatically, wearing down in some areas, and taking on color from light, moisture, and whatever you may end up walking through. Individual panels across the boots may begin as different hues of brown or tan, and will settle into a more uniform color with time and wear.
As far as leather goes, it's thick and sturdy, starting out noticeably stiff and requiring a few weeks of good wear to really break-in. After that, the leather begins to relax considerably, moulding to take the shape of the wearer's foot and softening at flex points to move more easily.
They stand on Vibram's #269 "Western" outsole and #700 heel, a great combination for comfort and durability that don't sacrifice traction. The low profile and lowered heel of the ropers lend to the overall sleekness of the boot, which is finished with a 270 degree storm welt that can be resoled by any skilled cobbler once the outsole or heel wears down.
Choose 0.5 size smaller than your Brannock device size.
