W'Menswear was founded by Lauren Yates in 2015, born out of a desire to produce high quality, heritage-inspired garments for women - with a nuanced and ever-evolving perspective on femininity at the intersections of fashion, workwear, military garments, and history. Originally operating out of a converting shipping container in Bangkok, the brand has grown substantially with each new collection, employing specialty and custom fabrics as well as partnering with local workshops & artisans.
Introducing the new Spring/Summer '24 Collection: Pawai Paratroopers - a celebration of Thailand's first group of female paratroopers, whose motto was "to prove that women can do anything as well as a man, no matter what affair. Whatever the task, be it on land, in water, or in the air." (Paratrooper Ampai Sombat, Freedom Magazine 1961). Through their action, these women became cultural figureheads of radical change during the 1960s, inspiring new attitudes towards women and social progress throughout Thailand.
Cut with an exaggerated silhouette from top to bottom, the Crazy Border Trousers are packed with detail! From the two button waistband, to the bungee cord back tie, to the reinforced pockets and massive front pleats that extend all the way down each leg - everything comes together for a pair of pants much greater than the sum of its parts. The top block is constructed with no yoke, using rear darts for shaping and sitting comfortably through the waistband before opening up into the wide, straight legs.
They're made from a 100% cotton Japanese selvedge denim with a classic indigo dye. Fairly soft and immediately comfortable, the fabric will only relax further as it breaks in, developing unique fades over time as the indigo wears away in some areas.
Fits true to size. Wash cold and hang dry.
