Description
The Relax Fit from Omoto is their more tapered option, with a cut that's somewhere between loose and athletic, featuring a comfortable top block, full thighs, and a gradual taper below the knee. They're a super classic 5-pocket jean, with all the right details: copper rivet reinforcements (including hidden ones on the back pockets), heavy-duty chainstitch construction, custom iron button-fly, and selvedge ID details on the outseam and beneath the coin pocket.
If straight leg or wide leg fits aren't quite your speed, Omoto has you covered with one of the most immediately-flattering tapered fits we've encountered. The one wash fabric helps keep these from being too stiff, shortening the break-in period and helping the tapered leg drape more naturally, emphasizing your natural silhouette.
The 15.5oz "Slub Nep Denim" from Omoto is right at the edge of what we consider to be a heavyweight fabric. Produced on vintage Toyoda Shuttle looms, it's woven at a very low tension, combining long and heavily-textured warp (outer) yarns with short recycled cotton weft (inner) yarns. The end-result is an extremely handsome selvedge denim with an uneven texture and pronounced neps peeking through the slubby face.
The fabric is unsanforized, with an indigo dye that will fade beautifully over time. After finishing, these jeans are given a single wash to manage the initial shrinkage and stiffness, bringing out both the uneven weave texture and the excess indigo dye, priming them for wear right away.
These fit true to size with a relaxed leg. Wash cold and hang dry.
