Kapital is undoubtedly one of our most unique brands, as well as one of our favorites. From their iconic Ring Coats and Century Denim to the scarves and bandannas we love so much, to their patchwork and Kountry pieces, and everything else they make, Kapital is a brand that has earned their reputation of style, brilliance, and just a hint of madness.

The weaving process to create this denim is a trade secret with Kapital - it all goes through one loom and one loom only. The No. 5S Century Denim fuses classic American denim manufacturing with Japanese kakishibu dyeing – a process using fermented persimmon juice that yields an almost terracotta color – and then, just for good measure, adds on sashiko stitch weaving throughout the fabric.

Sashiko – literally, ‘little stabs’ - is a form of stitching that was initially utilized functionally to repair or reinforce damaged fabric that eventually came to be used for decorative purposes. The sashiko on this fabric uses rope-dyed indigo to give a unique hand feel and appearance to the denim. Over time, the kakishibu dye will fade to a brighter orange hue, which, along with the indigo fading of the sashiko stitching, will lead to some pretty interesting wear patterns.

The Monkey fit is an update to the original Cisco fit. The rise is higher, the seat and thighs are fuller, and there's a slight taper below the knee. These will still fit over a pair of boots comfortably.

These run very small, so take the next size up from your US denim size; double-check the size chart for details. Minimal shrink is expected and will be recovered when they stretch post-wash.
