Description
Motiv draft their patterns by hand, sampling garments on living models for drape and making adjustments until the desired fit is achieved. This old world tailoring style gives every piece an anatomical cut, conforming to your body better than garments cut and sewn entirely flat. Motiv's fabrics and materials are sourced from the very best mills around the world, frequently making using of custom and wholly unique fabrics woven to Motiv's specifications.
The Bund Trousers are a wide leg pleated pant from Motiv with one of their most exaggerated silhouettes. They're cut wide and relaxed, with generous double pleats at the front and creased legs for a slightly more classic look, with a leg shape that balloons out a touch before tapering below the knee. They've got a high rise, with a fitted "Hollywood" waist and darts in the rear and a more traditional 3 pocket configuration, with a zip fly and an asymmetrical button closure above the fly. They're easily one of our favorite trouser fits this season, and even more so if we're only talking about trousers with wide fits.
These are made from a beautiful 100% wool suiting fabric from one of Italy's leading fabric mills. The fabric itself is woven on a dobby loom, giving a more three-dimensional texture to the check face that helps the fabric maintain shape without stretching or bagging out as easily, and insulating more throughly thanks to the increased surface area to trap air in. The sage green color is beautiful, distinct from a more military-coded olive green, the warm and desaturated tone styles remarkably easily. Immediately soft, it drapes naturally, with a pleasant heft for a 100% wool fabric that's still inarguably less heavy than most tweed or other "winter" wool textiles.
