Born from a mix of vintage sensibilities, practical need, & the sort of madness it takes to want to produce anything the right way—Papa Nui produces fantastic garments. Manufactured in Japan with the highest attention to detail and quality, each unique style has its own personality, and a deliberate story behind its creation.
Designed by Papa Nui and produced to those exact specifications in Japan, the Atoll Flyer's jacket is a subtle but unique piece of military-inspired outerwear. Featuring a unique chest pocket configuration loosely based off of vintage J-7758-B jackets, with a slanted side entry, as well as a single interior pocket and a compound airman's pocket on the left sleeve.
The fit is great for pretty much any human (no guarantees if you are a dog or some kind of sea creature), thanks in no small part to the subtle tailoring throughout - an articulated bi-swing action back grants extra movement through the shoulders, while an integrated half-belt keeps everything looking sharp and not blobby. Everything closes up with brass zippers, including the sleeves, which feature motorcycle-jacket-esque cuffs designed to easily fit over gloves or wristwatches.
It's sewn up in a 100% cotton Japanese HBT that's been rinsed for shrinkage and softness. Coming in at a comfortable medium weight, you can wear it almost year-round thanks to the breathability of the herringbone weave.
Fits true to size. Wash cold and hang dry.
