Indi + Ash create extremely thoughtful garments, employing a variety of traditional manufacturing techniques and reinvesting profit into the artisans responsible for their production, as well as the communities they live in. From hand-weaving to hand-knitting, traditional dyeing methods, and atelier-style production, they work to create truly unique and beautiful pieces that highlight the skill and history of the craftspeople who make them.
The Ames Workshirt is a more classic blue collar overshirt without all the western embellishments. Inspired by vintage Big Mac shirts, it's cut with a relaxed body and wide fit that can be easily layered over sweaters or even other button-down shirts. It features two wide bucket pockets at the chest, and everything closes up with tonal catseye buttons.
It's made from Indi + Ash's handwoven denim, a 100% cotton 2x1 twill with a slightly irregular face texture. The handwoven nature of the fabric highlights its slubby yarns, the warp of which is colored with cutch-based (derived from the heartwood of acacia trees) dyes, while the weft is undyed. Despite its relative heft and sturdiness, the fabric is immediately soft and comfortable, requiring no break in. Over time, the fabric will continue to soften and relax, and will develop very subtle, even fading after a long time.
True to size with a relaxed, overshirt fit. Wash cold and hang dry.
