Description
With a stylistic focus that zooms in on the era where denim transitioned from "workwear" to a casual fabric, Fullcount were the first brand to start making their denim from hand-picked Zimbabwean cotton, which is famous for its long staple length (granting it both greater softness and durability than short staple cottons).
The 0107-21 Fit (the "Monroe") are a high rise, wide leg women's fit in a classic five pocket style. Cut with a snug waist that opens up into a more relaxed top block, full thighs, and a straight leg down to a wide opening, these are an exceptional relaxed fit jean with all the vintage details.
These are made from an 11.5oz selvedge Zimbabwean cotton denim, produced in Japan. Zimbabwean cotton is highly sought-after in denim production, as the climate is perfect for growing long staple cotton, which is then spun into more durable (and soft) yarns. After finishing, this fabric is given a custom wash by Fullcount, with subtly-distressed details and authentic fading based on original vintage samples from Fullcount's archives. This finishing process also removes all shrinkage from the denim and softens it considerably, making these perfectly broken-in before you even put them on.
The trims are also worth noting, as they're on par with the excellent fit and fabric — custom Fullcount copper rivets and 100% cotton thread keep everything held together, while a custom Fullcount metal button and a zip fly close up the front. On the back, Fullcount's goatskin tag sits above two roomy rear pockets.
