These Mister Freedom utilities are based on a vintage pair of 1957 “TROUSERS, UTILITY, COTTON, SAGE GREEN, CLASS 2” from their voluminous archives. The original pair of trousers were developed and designed by the fledgling US Air Force (having just become its own branch of the military in 1947). Looking to chart their own path in the air and in uniform, the Air Force created a unique utility trouser for its ground crews. In its very own sage green, the trousers featured snap waist adjusters and thigh high tool pockets – both of which are maintained in the Mister Freedom interpretation.
Adding their own spin, Mister Freedom made their utility trousers from OG-107 cotton sateen, added impressive front patch pockets and orange accents. The fabric is a Japanese 9oz mil-spec cotton sateen in an OG-107 color. They have the perfect vintage feel of your favorite fatigue trousers, and promises to age as just as gracefully.
The mechanic utility trousers feature a mid to high rise with a full period cut –– you have to be able to move freely when working under the hood of a damaged warbird after all. The two front patch pockets are complimented by two rear patch pockets, one with a flap. The extra utility pocket can be found on the inner back of the left leg, sitting around mid calf height. The side snaps allow for two inches of adjustment through the waist. Flat-felled seam construction with 100% cotton thread.
Trousers are made from unwashed cotton sateen that is designed to shrink to marked size after initial wash. True to size with a wide leg and high rise. Wash cold and hang dry.
