These are a proper high rise, straight leg jean with plenty of room all around. It's the most straight leg fit in Freenote's lineup, having only the tiniest bit of taper (a fraction of an inch) between the knee and leg opening. The Belford is the sort of fit that's easy and comfortable to just exist in, fitting well, but never being restrictive.
This time around, it's made from a heavyweight dark selvedge, weighing in at 17oz, this Japanese denim uses black warp (outer) yarns in place of the usual indigo, but keeps the white weft (inner) yarns for a not-quite-black final product. Slower fading than indigo denim, these will develop very high contrast fades over time, turning gray with wear and washing rather than blue.
The rest of the details are exactly what we've come to expect from Freenote: custom copper hardware, Japanese HBT pocket bags, classic selvedge outseam details, and all custom labels (woven and leather). Construction-wise there are no surprises either, with durable flat-felled seams and Freenote's signature 1/8" double needle stitching accents keeping the whole thing held together.
True to size. Sanforized, so minimal shrink with a cold wash and hang dry.
