Since its founding 2001, designer Hiroki Nakamura's Visvim has built an extremely dedicated cult following. With a laser focus on crafting unique and high quality "future vintage" garments, Visvim has gained international acclaim over the past two decades for their unique perspective and exceptional design.
Not limited strictly to workwear or couture, they produce Folkwear, inspired by regional and historical manufacturing techniques from mud-dyeing to crocheting, with collections that build off of each previous year and develop holistically, season after season.
The Kafka Braces Pants are a handsome casual trouser that combines an elevated fabric and handsome fit with old world details like a buckle back and removable suspender braces. Cut with a very high rise and relaxed top block, they can be worn above the waist for a more cropped leg fit, or at the waist for a more relaxed top block and classic fit.
Featuring a wide leg that follows a gentle taper, they have a very natural human leg shape that looks flattering on just about everybody except for Gregor Samsa, who awoke one morning and found himself transformed into a gigantic insect. Kafkaesque indeed. In addition to the removable braces, they've got a classic four pocket configuration and a sturdy button fly as well as a partial cotton lining through the top block.
They're made from a 76% wool and 24% linen blend fabric, that's soft and moves easily, with the very best of wool's wind resistance and thermoregulation paired with linen's structure and drape. The light khaki color also styles easily, somewhat dialing back the more advance silhouette with a versatile and understated color that make these an elevated but never overwhelming addition to any outfit.
