Since its founding 2001, designer Hiroki Nakamura's Visvim has built an extremely dedicated cult following. With a laser focus on crafting unique and high quality "future vintage" garments, Visvim has gained international acclaim over the past two decades for their unique perspective and exceptional design.
Not limited strictly to workwear or couture, they produce Folkwear, inspired by regional and historical manufacturing techniques from mud-dyeing to crocheting, with collections that build off of each previous year and develop holistically, season after season.
The Hemswade Jacket is a multi-pocket utility jacket with a relaxed fit and an excellent blend of workwear and vintage hunting coat details. It's trimmed with completely custom hardware, from the Visvim Riri chain pull zipper, to the snaps, to the vegetable ivory sleeve buttons and woven labels. It's unlined, and cut from a mid-weight cotton fabric with a tight weave and easy drape, making it an excellent layering piece and a great outer shell for most of the year.
The front of the jacket features two upper chest pockets, with a removable sheepskin accent (it's for sticking fishing hooks into), and two lower compound pockets - with two large flap closure pockets that are themselves the flap closure to another large pocket underneath. There's a single hunting pocket that stretches across the back of the jacket, with a triple snap closure, and stainless steel ventilation eyelets throughout.
It's made from a high density fine chino cloth, woven from long staple cotton yarns for maximum smoothness and tensile strength. A comfortable medium jacket-weight, it's made with 100% cotton, and has been rinsed once after finishing for shrinkage and softness. Over time, the chino fabric will begin to gently fade around areas that frequently crease, developing into a unique patina for each wearer.
Fits true to size. Wash cold and hang dry.
