The Zetland trousers are a special fit that Motiv developed for trousers made from soft, heavy fabrics that are prone to stretching and bulging in the knee. To remedy this, Motiv have designed the Zetland trousers with stitched down darts and a roomy knee to prevent exactly this problem, resulting in an extremely flattering dress pant that will stay gorgeous with wear.
Cut with a big high rise, the front is extremely minimal, with a covered button fly, flat darts for shaping, and two front pockets. The waist lacks belt loops, but two side taps at the rear can be used to bring the waist in if necessary. The legs are relaxed and roomy, with a very handsome taper down to an opening that will work equally well with boots or loafers (or sneakers or whatever, you know).
The fabric is a heavyweight (700g) ultra high quality moleskin fabric from Brisbane Moss in the UK. Brisbane Moss produces some of the very best, if not the best corduroy and moleskin in the world, with this batch being no exception. Remarkably soft and wind resistant, the tightly woven moleskin breaks in quickly, taking the shape of the wearer's body with little effort.
After finishing, the fabric was given a garment overdye, which will gradually fade over time, leading to a unique and highly varied patina with immense tonal depth. The long pile fabric also features a remarkable wooly texture that is best viewed up close.
True to size for a snug fit, size up for a more relaxed fit through the waist. Wash cold, hang dry (or dry clean).
