From hand-weaving to hand-knitting to hand-embroidery, traditional dyeing methods, and atelier-style production, they work to create truly unique and beautiful pieces that highlight the skill and history of the craftspeople who make them.
Inspired by vintage French work jackets, the Study Coat is an exceptionally comfortable and handsome unstructured blazer. With fully finished flat-felled seams throughout, the the fit is enhanced through the tailoring, featuring a casual square hem and long darts down either side of the placket. The minimally structured collar leans toward being worn up, but still folds down nicely should you want to dress the jacket up a bit.
It's made from one of the most special military herringbone fabrics we've seen. Made from 100% cotton yarns, this fabric is entirely handwoven, with a subtle shine and an almost glossy texture that changes in different light. The green color is achieved with natural dye made from henna, turmeric, and iron water, giving a lot of tonal depth to each individual yarn. It's soft and comfortable from the moment you put it on, draping well and breathing easily when temperatures rise.
The whole thing closes up with bone buttons that compliment the fabric in both color and texture. Two patch pockets sit on the front of the jacket above the hem, with a single chest pocket on the outside and another on the inside for secret storage.
