From hand-weaving to hand-knitting to hand-embroidery, traditional dyeing methods, and atelier-style production, they work to create truly unique and beautiful pieces that highlight the skill and history of the craftspeople who make them.
Inspired by vintage Swedish Military thermals, the Spencer thermal is an update on Indi + Ash's bestselling knit from last fall. Produced on a flat manual-knitting machine that operates without electricity, it's got a snug and comfortable fit, with a jersey tuck stitch through the body that imitates a waffle knit. The raglan sleeves and ribbed openings keep things snug without being restrictive, exactly what you want from a thermal.
It's made from alpaca-wrapped pima cotton yarns, which feature all the softness and warmth of alpaca, but with the additional durability and drape of cotton - the best of both materials. It's dyed at the yarn level, using all natural dyes that compliment these exceptional fabrics.
This edition features both charcoal-dyed alpaca yarns as well as natural indigo dyed pima cotton. Alpaca is the softer, warmer cousin of wool, much in the same way that pima cotton is the sturdier, more comfortable sibling of regular cotton. Over time, these two yarns will relax, and the garment will open up, increasing in size by about 10%.
True to size with a relaxed fit throughout. Dry clean only at a wool/knit specialist.
