A special seasonal collaboration between Warehouse & Japan's Rocky Mountain Featherbed, this is RMFB's iconic Down Vest with a few upgrades. This model features a special colorway selected by Warehouse, a horsehide leather yoke (instead of the usual cowhide one), & a custom nylon taffeta body.
The Christy Vest features a 3-layer construction, with a thick, windproof and water-resistant nylon taffeta outer shell and lining, with 90/10 European down fill that has been treated for additional water resistance. "90/10" refers to the ratio of down to feathers, with 90% down fill and 10% feather fill - this is the highest possible ratio of down, ensuring the highest quality insulation.
The filling hits the perfect midweight, clocking in at 700 down fill power - a very respectable level, just shy of the upper limit of 900 (extremely warm) and well above the fill floor of 350 (pretty warm).
The fabric is a custom nylon taffeta, produced exclusively for Rocky Mountain Featherbed, to their exact specifications. The tightly woven fabric uses 260 individual threads to recreate the feel and water resistance of the original fabric without needing an acrylic coating. This edition comes in a bright safety orange, perfect for standing out and maintaining safety on the road (or anywhere).
It's finished with the signature one piece western yoke, made entirely from combination tanned horsehide. Brass snaps close close the whole thing up, just like the originals. The handwarmer pockets are split, allowing you to keep your hands and objects separate (because who can warm their hands with a pocket full of keys and loose change). Inside, a single zip pocket is tucked away for storing your most precious treasures.
