These aren't quite a true slim-straight jean, but the Rios fills that spot in our closet perfectly, with just a touch of taper below the knee. It features all the usual Freenote thoughtful construction details - the two piece waistband, flat-felled seams, and custom hardware.
After encountering a vintage pair of jeans with a transfixing light blue indigo color, the boys down at Freenote spent the next 8 years researching and working to recreate this unique denim. They've finally succeeded, and now offer the beautiful "vintage blue" denim, a 12oz, 100% cotton selvedge produced exclusively for Freenote by Yoshiwa Mills in Japan.
At 12oz, the fabric is a comfortable medium-light weight that works for all but the hottest and coldest days of the year. Freenote have also given this fabric a single rinse to account for initial shrinkage and soften them up a touch. Despite their light color, these are indigo-dyed and will fade over time with wear and washing, developing more old-school, low contrast fades throughout.
