The Engineer Shirt was a popular workwear style a little more than 100 years ago, during the 1910s and 20s, Black Sign have reproduced the style based on historical photographs of several different styles. Featuring a band collar, it's cut with long sleeves and a curved swooping hem for wearing tucked in, the yoke is done sideways, with gathering just behind the shoulders to help you move.
It's made from a "random stripe" fabric comprised of 55% linen and 45% cotton yarns with a soft yet substantial hand to it that breathes and dries more easily than 100% cotton fabrics. The pattern is reminiscent of railroad stripe fabrics and other similar workwear stripe designs from the last century, rendered in an off-white with black stripes for a touch more formality.
The front features two asymmetrical chest pockets, one classic and one for a pocketwatch, with an additional angled buttonhole in the placket for a pocketwatch chain. Everything has been pattern-matched as well, for a properly put together look.
Fits true to size. Wash cold and hang dry.
