The Rancho Chambray Shirt is another of Freenote's instant classic two pocket work shirts - featuring stellar construction, a fantastic fit, and two technically impressive chest pockets. Cut with a slightly relaxed fit throughout, it's not too loose to tuck in, and wears well as a base layer (but has no problem being used as an overshirt either).
The chest features two slightly angled roomy flap pockets, with an expandable inverted-box-pleat construction that allows them to fit more inside while still laying flat while empty. The buttons are all metal, a vintage repro design that's made in Japan and will tarnish over time. And of course, it's got Freenote's usual 1/8" double needle stitching details and heavy duty construction.
The Fabric is a 7oz cotton slub fabric from Japan in a sagebrush "green" that Freenote have given a rinse to soften a preshrink. The low tension weave features an uneven face, with a unique and varied texture throughout that will fade over time and produce a unique patina. Clocking in at 7oz, it's a respectable medium weight with a slight drape and decent thickness that feels substantial without being too stiff or hot.
