MotivMFG is Samuel Wei, founder of Radiance Blue and the pioneer of the heritage market in China; and Daniel Gu, a third-generation tailor and designer. Together they combine old-world tailoring from antique German manuals with workwear production techniques. Constant research into the garment making techniques around the world informs their design with the goal of creating “recreations” rather than “reproductions”
The Mod Deacon Flight Jacket Liner is a surprisingly good standalone garment, despite lacking any sort of closure at the front and featuring pretty minimal details throughout. Featuring an oversized fit, the most secure part of the garment is the knit cuffs, while the rest is relaxed and roomy.
The outer shell is a very soft and very warm Polartec fleece, with desaturated gray trims and a tonal off-white bucket pocket on the front left. The Mod Deacon Flight Jacket (Liner) can be buttoned into the Shell at 15 distinct points (2 per sleeve, 1 per armpit, 8 around the collar and placket), providing additional warmth and insulation throughout. This is optional however, and either piece can be worn separately in addition to together.
Fits true to size for a relaxed fit. Wash cold and hang dry.
