As part of Collect Mills, Momotaro have the freedom and equipment to design and develop their own custom fabrics in-house, allowing them to produce highly unique and technically advanced fabrics at a fraction of the cost. This freedom defines much of Momotaro's brand, and everything they produce is a wonderful blend of incredible textiles and masterful craftsmanship.
Sewn up in one of our favorites: Momotaro's 12.5oz Indigo Dobby cloth. This 100% cotton fabric has a hefty drape and great surface texture, with indigo dye that hasn't fully permeated the cotton threads that make up its weave. Over time, (and especially in areas that move around a lot, and after a wash) the indigo will fade, highlighting the unique way you wear the cardigan. Same goes for the hand-painted "Battle Stripes" on the sleeve, for two layers of unique patina.
The fit is a classic cardigan, but with a workwear spin. Relaxed through the body, with tapered sleeves and a flat hem, the whole thing closes up with 6 antique brass buttons, and the two bucket pockets on the front stay firmly attached with copper rivets. Though stiff at first, the fabric will relax over time, taking the shape of your body and moving more fluidly.
