MotivMFG is headed by Samuel Wei, founder of Radiance Blue and the pioneer of the heritage market in China; and Daniel Gu, a third-generation tailor and designer. Together, they combine old-world tailoring (from various antique European manuals) with workwear production techniques. Constant research into garment production techniques around the world informs their design, with the goal of creating “recreations” rather than “reproductions”.

The Hadron Jacket is a heavily modified reinterpretation of the classic bomber jacket, with an angular, cropped body and soft knit hood. With a relaxed and slightly cropped body, there's an impressive amount of tailoring throughout, from the layered side panels, to the artfully pattern-matched torso, to the three rounded zips across the front of the jacket.

The fabric is a 100% wool worsted crepe fabric with a highly unique finish featuring smooth ripples throughout that emulate electromagnetic interactions. This slightly stiff, scratchy wool body insulates remarkably well, and is complemented by the soft cotton lining inside. The back hem, cuffs, and hood are all done up in a 100% wool knit ribbing for an extra secure fit.

Inside, you'll find two more pockets (with snap closures) for additional storage, while all three external zips feature aviation grade ceramic pulls for added durability.
