The Grafton is Freenote's take on a classic cropped work jacket — with a button front, two roomy pockets, a flat hem, and side-tab adjusters at the hips. It pulls details from a number of different places, with the double-front pockets inspired by vintage hunting jackets, a silhouette that borrows from mechanics jackets, and Freenote's usual workwear construction throughout.
It's made from a sturdy 11oz cotton moleskin fabric from Japan. It's solid and highly wind-resistant, as moleskin is tightly woven and lightly brushed to minimize any airflow through its face. Though it's stiff at first, the fabric will relax considerably with time, breaking in and taking the shape of the wearer's body as it creases and stretches in certain areas.
Everything closes up with contrasting corozo nut fisheye buttons, which will develop a handsome (but subtle) patina over time along with the fabric. It's unlined through the interior, making for a great shell or layering piece almost all year long, rotating through use as a jacket or midlayer as the seasons permit.
Fits true to size with a slightly cropped torso. Wash cold and hang dry.
