Since its founding 2001, designer Hiroki Nakamura's Visvim has built an extremely dedicated cult following. With a laser focus on crafting unique and high quality "future vintage" garments, Visvim has gained international acclaim over the past two decades for their unique perspective and exceptional design.
Not limited strictly to workwear or couture, they produce Folkwear, inspired by regional and historical manufacturing techniques from mud-dyeing to crocheting, with collections that build off of each previous year and develop holistically, season after season.
Note: as with almost all Visvim footwear, the texture of the leather used may vary drastically from pair to pair, as hides are cut to maximize use of unique and interesting grain - as such, no two pairs are exactly alike, and the appearance of your pair may differ slightly than those pictured here.
These are a heavy duty lace-to-toe logger style boot made from Visvim's "patchwork" of custom leathers, each highly unique and textured for maximum visual impact. They're really robust, with hefty construction throughout — logger heels, a thick hand-welt, and triple (or quadruple) row upper-stitching really enhance the durability and authenticity of the style.
They're made from an absolutely beautiful Italian vegetable-tanned horsehide, with an abundance of unique grain texture and tonal variance. It's thick, heavy, and waxy, requiring a little time to break in but moulding into the shape of your foot over time for maximum comfort. Various different panels of each boot use differently textured horsehide leathers, giving them a subtle patchwork effect.
They stand on the classic Vibram logger sole and heel combo, a robust and high-function outsole that's very well loved for its blend of comfort, traction, and durability. They close up with custom brass "lug-nut" eyelets and heavy speed hooks, with chunky woven cotton laces that secure the lace-to-toe vamp and tall shaft.
